Increasing the fuelling capacity up to 3 million liters at Mattala

Mattala/Sri Lnka:Measures have been taken by the Ministry of Petroleum Industries to increase the fuel storage capacity to 3 million liters at Mattala Rajapaksha International Airport (MRIA). According to Ministry sources, the airport had only the fuel storage capacity of two hundred thousand liters of jet fuel before the commissioning of this project. MRIA can now accommodate the refueling requirements of any large aircraft arriving from locations around the world due to the completion of this latest facility improvement. Construction costs of USD 40 million have been spent on this project.
